BECOME A WIGA TRIBAL MEMBER
The Washington Indian Gaming Association is the only state-wide organization with full-time staff in Olympia, representing Tribal gaming interests. Today, we represent 18 of the 29 federally-recognized tribes in the State of Washington. Join us, and together we will have a stronger organization, better able to advance the lives of Indian peoples - economically, socially and politically.
WIGA's mission is three-fold:
- To protect and preserve the general welfare and interests of Indian tribes with respect to gaming in Indian Country.
- To advance and promote government-to-government relationships and effective communication between Tribes and the State of Washington, and
- To maintain, protect, and advocate Indian tribal sovereignty and Treaty rights.
WIGA's nine-member Board of Directors is composed entirely of duly appointed representatives of the governing bodies of member Tribes.
As a Tribal Member, you will be able to attend and vote at regular WIGA Board meetings, held bi-monthly, and more often when necessary. You will receive WIGA's Legislative Reports on the website, and a monthly electronic newsletter from the Executive Director.
WIGA's board members and staff working in coordination with the Washington Coalition for Tribal Self-Reliance on matters of immediate concern to gaming Tribes on a day-to-day basis.
